CROP began when a working party met in 1994 to consider the need for a free advocacy service for people over 60 years of age in the Maidstone area.

It was concluded that there was a desperate need for a free confidential service, and as a result the Maidstone office was opened in 1994 to provide this free advocacy service using volunteer advocates. Our Ashford office opened 6 years later in 2000 and our most recent office in Canterbury opened it’s doors in 2002.
Over the following years, in order to make the best use of funds and in recognition that our volunteers work remotely, the operation was consolidated in 2010 into one office in Lenham, where we remain
