YOUR 24 HOUR PERSONAL ALARM

Canterbury City Council's Lifeline service can offer peace of mind 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Your Lifeline alarm will automatically call our central control centre at the touch of a button. Our trained operator will quickly respond to your call, providing anything from a reassuring ear to obtaining help from your family or the emergency services.
Various types of Lifeline units are available; all work with your existing phone connection.

Imagine the security of never being alone in an emergency. At a time when caring within the home is a priority for many people, a Lifeline alarm provides a reassuring link to the outside world.

What does Lifeline offer you?

  • A 24 hour a day service, 365 days a year.
  • A local central control centre.
  • A prompt and discrete service.
  • Fully trained, experienced and friendly staff with local knowledge.
  • A low hire charge (from £2.61 per week).
  • No installation charges.
  • A keyholding service when you have no family or friends nearby.
  • A prompt repair or replacement service if something should go wrong with your Lifeline unit.

How the system works

  • Step 1
To raise an alarm call, you would press the red button on the Lifeline base unit or the alert pendant.
  • Step 2
You can then speak directly to a Lifeline operator using the powerful microphone and speaker in the base unit, without needing to be near your phone.
  • Step 3
The Lifeline operator will summon appropriate help from your carer, key holder scheme manager or the emergency services.
