As we retire earlier these days we can often be found with time on our hands. Both work and leisure over the years have endowed us with a wealth of knowledge and experience, and such knowledge and experience can go to help those less fortunate or able. Many people through ill health or disability are denied the pleasures they perhaps once enjoyed. The hard of hearing, the visually impaired, those dogged by Arthritis, people, who through no fault of their own, are left feeling lonely. Can you help?

The CHVBC serves to create new support groups where a need has been identified. The work of such groups is invaluable to those who attend. If you are interested in forming a new support group or would like to know of a group that may not be listed in this directory then give the Volunteer Bureau a call.

Trustees for committees, gardeners to give back that lost pleasure, someone just to sit and listen, all these services and many more ensure that, regardless of a disability, quality of life can be maintained. If you can offer just one hour a week to help, call the Volunteer Centre. They will discuss which groups would benefit from your help and put you in touch.
