The Healthy Homes and Healthy Minds Project
Wayne Delaney and Ted Dunne are now working full time for the Volunteer Centre bringing with them years of combined experience in Gardening and Home Repairs. The fund awarded from the Big Lottery Fund has enabled the team to purchase a brand new vehicle, tools and equipment. This scheme covers the Canterbury Council area.
The price of this service starts at £15 but will vary depending on the size of garden and work required. Wayne and Ted will discuss the cost with you and agree a fixed price before carrying out any work. There won't be any additional costs or hidden extras but should you require further work they will be happy to discuss this with you.
Volunteers will be core to the success of the project enabling us to keep the cost low and for the volunteers to develop their own skills. All volunteers will be supervised by Wayne or Ted at all times during their time working at your property.
There has been huge interest already and it is strongly advised that clients wishing to take advantage of this service contact the Volunteer Centre ASAP as it is based on a first-come-first serve basis. Don't worry if you have already contacted the centre, we will be in touch shortly to arrange a date.
The teams first priority is to get going and visit all of our clients but many initiatives are being planned such as our self-sufficient composting scheme which will recyle the green waste removed from your gardens and return it as composts, chippings and mulch.
We look forward to seeing you soon in your homes and gardens.
Wayne and Ted
